Welcome to Raiders of the Lost Toys - The Indiana Jones Action Figure and Toy Archive. Part of what has become an international effort, this site was created to form a central reference and resource for Indiana Jones toy collectors to discover and share information about the various Indiana Jones toy lines released over the past 25 years.

This archive focuses primarily on the vintage toy collections but will be including the modern toy collections of Hasbro and LEGO as they are released starting in 2008. It aims to be the most comprehensive resource not only for the vintage toy lines but also the modern.

If you would like to discuss various Indiana Jones Action Figure and Toy related topics or anything to do with Indiana Jones in general with fellow collectors and enthusiastics please join us in the The Hovito's Lair. Also if you have any unique or unknown Indiana Jones toy related pieces or have photos of pieces which are needed for the archive and you would like to add them to the archive please contact me here as I would certainly like to here from you and credit will certainly be given. Also if you worked on one of the toylines featured on this site I would also like to hear from you as well. In general though the archive needs everyone's help to make it as complete as possible ... all help would be appreciated.

ARCHIVE UPDATES:

!!WORLD PREMIERE!!

- 8/15/2007 - It has been rumoured since 1983 that both Kenner Raiders of the Lost Ark action figures TOHT and the Cairo Swordsman had been re-released along with Indiana Jones and Marion Ravenwood on 9-Back cardbacks. However, for nearly 25 years not a single example of a 9-Back TOHT or Cairo Swordsman has ever surfaced. That is until today. Recently a carded sample of a 9-Back TOHT was located and it can be seen here or by clicking the image above where one can also read further about it. This does not prove that 9-Back versions of TOHT and Cairo Swordsman were released though because this example is a carded sample and not production. It does however mean that it is possible that somewhere out there a 9-Back Cairo Swordsman sample also exists. Unfortunately the original owner of this TOHT did not have the Swordsman. Nonetheless this is truly a "lost ark" and it in terms of scarity this is probably the rarest Indiana Jones toy line action figure in existence. At only one example is it already much more rare than the infamous carded Belloq in Ceremonial Robes. Now the quest shifts to finding the 9-Back Cairo Swordsman! Please do not inquire to purchase this action figure, it has already been sent to toy graders and has been confirmed as genuine and currently sits in a personal collection of whom's owner has no intention to sell. Much appreciation to the current owner of this piece for letting it be shown on this site!

- 8/12/2007 - The Kenner Prototype section has been updated with the original artwork that was used to pitch the idea of the Desert Convoy Truck internally at Kenner. See it here. Also check back this Wednesday for the world premiere of a long lost Kenner piece that has been rumoured to exist since 1983! See it for the very first time this Wednesday and only here! Stay tuned!

- 7/27/2007 - Hasbro did put on quite the show for Indiana Jones fans and toy collectors alike today at the San Diego Comic Con International and thanks to collector and loyal site visitor Martin Smith we not only have images from Hasbro's unveiling but some interesting tidbits that he learned from one of the Hasbro representatives on hand. Check it all out here and discuss the unveiling in our forums!

This is the first Hasbro-related Indiana Jones item to be available. Hasbro has noted that the coins will not be part of thier upcoming toyline and that they will be previewing some prototype figures for the first time this afternoon. Check back here for updates!

- 7/25/2007 - The Official Star Wars Blog has posted a few pics of the setting up of the Hasbro Indiana Jones displays at for this week's Comic-Con in San Diego here.
