Released as part of the second wave of 3 3/4 Inch scale toys in 1983 the Streets of Cairo Adventure Set was the only playset released in the second wave. It also contained three action figures - a poseable Monkey Man with robe and dagger, a molded Marion Ravenwood in crouching position and a molded Monkey similar to the one that came with the carded Marion Ravenwood but has a slightly different sculpt. The Streets of Cairo shipped in a split case with the Map Room playset of 6 playsets in 1983 (Kenner Assortment No. 46190).

This playset was very simple and allowed for altered recreation of many of the Marion in Cairo sequences from the film but with a few differences. Many of these are pictured on the box's top and bottom as shown above. The molded Marion Ravenwood action figure could hid in a basket as the "Monkey Man" action figure goes looking for her. The Monkey Man's partner the molded monkey could identify to the Monkey Man which basket Marion was hiding in by pointing at it. Once she was found Indiana Jones could jump in and fight the Monkey Man and save Marion! These sequences are a little different than the those in the film but the theme stays the same and Indiana Jones could actually succeed in rescuing Marion Ravenwood if the story should allow.

The playset would be essential to recreating any scenes in the Cairo sequences in the movie. In fact multiples of this playset could create an entire market. The cart is identical to the one Indiana Jones threw Marion into to protect her from the Cairo baddies and the Cairo Swordsman and the "fruit stand" was easily collapsible to recreate fighting sequences. Kenner might have produced this with strong hopes that multiples would be purchased as well recreating a whole Cairo marketplace.

This playset is fairly common to find boxed in general however most of the time the "flap" on the box is fold folded over which was not the way it was originally shipped. Obtaining this playset loose and complete can be more challenging due to the fact that that the baskets are often found without their lids and there is not always the proper amount of fruit. Sometimes the cart's back gate is found broken as well. A complete break down of the loose parts are as follows:
