ORIGINAL ART FOR KENNER CONVOY TRUCK

    This is the original artwork that was used internally with Kenner to pitch the concept of the Desert Convoy Truck to the designers. Interesting enought even though the artwork resembles the final product very closelyt there are a number of features in the fine print that demonstrate that originally the designers had more intended. They had originally thought to make the truck "exploadable" probably for children to also recreate the Cairo scene in which Indy blows up a similar vehicle. Unfornatly this feature never made it to production. They had also thought of a "breakout" window of which Indy could fly through like in the movie. They had also planned to include an Ark for cargo, a driver and troops as well Indy and his horse essentially making this much like a playset. The only feature that seemed to have survived beyond the overall design was the rope feature for dragging Indy behind the truck. This artwork when compared with the prototype of the Convoy Truck as seen here shows the interesting progression towards the final product.
